Important privacy notice—SHRM Assurance of Learning® Assessment
SHRM is committed to protecting examinees’ privacy. This privacy statement applies to the data collected by SHRM related to the Assurance of Learning Exam (the “Exam”); it does not apply to other online or offline SHRM sites, products, or services. SHRM collects information to provide you with the Exam-related services you request to participate in, and in furtherance of exam-related development and integrity measures. You are only required to provide such information if you want to participate in the Exam.
Use of your information. Personal information collected by SHRM on the Exam application and throughout the Exam process will only be used as follows: (a) in relation to the administration of the exam; (b) to facilitate score reporting to you and your educational institution and (c) to ensure exam integrity. SHRM shall only share the information described below with the following other organizations. First, SHRM shares with its testing center vendor each individual’s name, mailing address, telephone number and a unique ID number (along with other information about the test form you are taking and your testing window) so they can confirm your identity which then enables you to sit for the exam on exam day. Second, SHRM shares with another third-party exam development partner your name, a unique ID number assigned to you, information about your university and degree information (degree level, area of study and graduation date) for the purposes of generating your score report and generating aggregate reports to be sent to your university. SHRM also separately sends this entity aggregated data (such as optional demographic information and other eligibility information) for analysis to ensure exam integrity, show the exam is bias-free and to provide forensic information about the test administration, but SHRM removes all identifying information when preparing aggregate reports to meet the purposes stated herein. Finally, SHRM may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide information on individuals to the appropriate governmental authorities. In matters involving a danger to personal or public safety, SHRM may voluntarily provide information to appropriate governmental authorities.
Security of your information. SHRM is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer servers with limited access that are located in controlled facilities.
Where information is stored and processed. Personal information collected from the Exam may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country where SHRM or its affiliates, subsidiaries or service providers maintain facilities.
Modifying or deleting your personal information. Individuals have the following options for changing or deleting information previously provided. Please note that if you wish to delete your personal information prior to or following your scheduled exam, SHRM and its partners may not be able to provide you with the Exam services (including generation and provision of a score report, Certificate of Learning, etc.).
